New Year’s Eve is the busiest night of the year for chauffeured transportation in New York. It’s also the night when the usual options get hard: rideshare prices surge, taxis are scarce after midnight, trains are packed and Times Square closures slow Midtown from the afternoon. A pre-booked New Year’s Eve limo, SUV, Sprinter or party bus means your ride home is already arranged. This guide covers vehicles and pricing, getting around Manhattan on the night, popular Long Island plans and when to book.
How much does a New Year’s Eve limo cost?
New Year’s Eve is priced differently from a normal Saturday. Most operators, including us, set a longer minimum booking and a holiday rate. We’ll confirm the minimum hours and the full price in your quote.
| Vehicle | Passengers | New Year’s Eve rate |
|---|---|---|
| Lincoln Continental / Mercedes S-Class | 1–3 | Quote on request |
| Cadillac Escalade / Chevy Suburban | 4–6 | Quote on request |
| Mercedes Sprinter | 7–14 | Quote on request |

When you ask for a quote, check what’s included, such as tolls, gratuity and wait time, so you can compare like for like. See our special event limo service for more.
Manhattan on New Year’s Eve: what to expect
- Times Square is closed to traffic. The NYPD closes a large area around Times Square from the afternoon, and the closed zone grows through the evening. No car can drive into it. If your party is inside the zone, you’ll be dropped at the edge and walk in through a checkpoint.
- Bridges and tunnels are busy. Expect heavy traffic into the city in the evening and out of it after midnight. Leave extra time.
- Other neighborhoods are easier. Restaurants and clubs away from Times Square, in places like the Meatpacking District, the West Village, the Lower East Side or Williamsburg, are usually reachable by car. Your chauffeur waits nearby and comes back when you text.
- Street closures change each year. Your chauffeur checks the announced closures that day and plans the drop-off and pickup around them.
Popular New Year’s Eve plans from Long Island
- Gala or catering-hall party: pickup at home in the early evening, drop-off at the venue, and the chauffeur brings you home after midnight.
- Village bar night: a party Sprinter moves your group between bars in a Long Island village, so nobody has to drive.
- Night in the city: dinner in Manhattan, midnight at a rooftop or a Brooklyn party, then the ride home together. A party bus or Sprinter makes the ride part of the night. See our Long Island to Manhattan car service guide for travel times.
When to book
- By mid-November: the widest choice. Party Sprinters and party buses are booked first.
- Early December: sedans and SUVs are often still available. Sprinters are limited.
- Mid-December onward: whatever is left.
New Year’s Eve bookings need a deposit and have stricter cancellation terms than other nights, because a car held for you can’t be rebooked at the last minute. We’ll explain the terms clearly before you pay.
Staying safe on New Year’s Eve
- Your licensed and insured chauffeur stays with your group for the whole booking.
- Alcohol on board follows New York law and is for passengers 21 and over only. Ask us about the rules for your vehicle when you book.
- For under-21 groups, a parent or guardian makes the booking and no alcohol is allowed.
- If the party runs late, call or text us. We’ll extend your booking if the vehicle is free.
